What the desktop app connects to
- The filex server you sign in to. You type its address; you or your organisation operate it. Your files, your account and what you do with them are stored there, and whoever runs that server decides how that information is handled. We have no access to it.
- Updates. A copy installed from the Microsoft Store or the Snap Store is
updated by that store, under the store's own privacy policy; the app itself does not check for
updates. A copy downloaded from filex.sh or GitHub checks
filex.sh/desktop/every few hours for a newer version. That is an ordinary request for a small file and carries no identifier of you, your server or your files. Like every web server, ours sees the IP address a request comes from; we do not use it to identify anyone or combine it with anything.
Nothing else. The app does not report crashes, usage or errors anywhere.
What stays on your computer
- Your sign-in is kept in your operating system's secure storage (the Windows data protection API, the macOS Keychain, or the Linux Secret Service). If no secure storage is available, the app does not store it.
- Folder sync keeps its state in a
.filexfolder in your home directory; the app keeps a log file of its own activity. Neither is sent anywhere. You may choose to attach the log to a bug report yourself.
Uninstalling the app and deleting those folders removes everything it kept.
This website
filex.sh is a static page. It sets no cookies and loads no analytics or third-party scripts.
The public demo
demo.filex.sh is a demonstration server we operate so you can try filex. Other visitors can use it too: do not upload personal or confidential information there.
Changes
If what the app does with information changes, this page changes with it, and the date above says when.

Masaüstü uygulaması nereye bağlanır
- Giriş yaptığınız filex sunucusuna. Adresini siz yazarsınız; sunucuyu siz ya da kurumunuz işletir. Dosyalarınız, hesabınız ve onlarla yaptıklarınız orada saklanır; bu bilgilerin nasıl işleneceğine o sunucuyu işleten karar verir. Bizim oraya erişimimiz yoktur.
- Güncellemeler. Microsoft Store'dan ya da Snap Store'dan kurulan kopyayı o mağaza
günceller ve mağazanın kendi gizlilik politikası geçerlidir; uygulama güncelleme denetimi yapmaz.
filex.sh ya da GitHub'dan indirilen kopya, yeni sürüm olup olmadığını birkaç saatte bir
filex.sh/desktop/adresinden denetler. Bu, küçük bir dosya için sıradan bir istektir ve sizi, sunucunuzu ya da dosyalarınızı tanıtan hiçbir bilgi taşımaz. Her web sunucusu gibi bizimki de isteğin geldiği IP adresini görür; bunu kimseyi tanımak için kullanmayız ve hiçbir bilgiyle birleştirmeyiz.
Başka hiçbir yere bağlanmaz. Uygulama çökme, kullanım ya da hata bilgisi göndermez.
Bilgisayarınızda kalanlar
- Oturumunuz işletim sisteminizin güvenli deposunda saklanır (Windows veri koruma API'si, macOS Anahtar Zinciri ya da Linux Secret Service). Güvenli depo yoksa uygulama oturumu saklamaz.
- Klasör senkronu durumunu ev dizininizdeki
.filexklasöründe tutar; uygulama kendi çalışmasına ait bir günlük dosyası tutar. İkisi de hiçbir yere gönderilmez. Günlüğü bir hata bildirimine eklemek isterseniz bunu siz yaparsınız.
Uygulamayı kaldırıp bu klasörleri silmek, uygulamanın tuttuğu her şeyi kaldırır.
Bu web sitesi
filex.sh durağan bir sayfadır. Çerez kullanmaz; analitik ya da üçüncü taraf betik yüklemez.
Herkese açık deneme sunucusu
demo.filex.sh, filex'i denemeniz için işlettiğimiz bir deneme sunucusudur. Başka ziyaretçiler de kullanabilir: oraya kişisel ya da gizli bilgi yüklemeyin.
